What is Really at Stake

Sun Feb 03, 2008 at 10:16:45 AM PDT

In an Opt-Ed in this morning's NY Times, Frank Rich lays out what is really at stake in the contest between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Either of the two Democratic contenders will swing the pendulum. Their marginal policy differences notwithstanding, they are both orthodox liberals. As the party's voters in 22 states step forward on Tuesday, the overriding question they face, as defined by both contenders, is this: Which brand of change is more likely, in Kennedy's phrase, to get America moving again?

CO-06 Tancredo Coy About Plans to Run for Re-Election

Mon Oct 08, 2007 at 05:34:44 PM PDT

OMG!!! An AP story in the Denver Post says that Mr. Tancredo is being indecisive regarding running for re-election in CO-06. He will withdraw if he doesn't end up in the top three slots in either New Hampshire or Iowa.

his candidacy will be "pretty much over with" and he will have to decide whether to run for re-election to his House seat next year

Wouldn't it be sweet if he didn't run again? Quick, someone call Jay Fawcett!

Note: Jay, ran in CO-05 last year and has been urged to move to CO-06 and run there.

Getting ready for battle in CO-04

Sat Sep 29, 2007 at 08:08:10 PM PDT

Colorado's 4th congressional district is the only real pickup opportunity for the Democrat's US House delegation in Colorado. As you may know Angie Paccione dropped out of the race, in order to take a fantasitic job. Rep. Diana DeGette (CO-01) immediately endorsed Betsy Markey.

I got a call from Betsy last night as she was driving home from the airport (she'd just been in DC). The DCCC and a certain DC-based organization have pledged significant funds, if Betsy can raise another $14,000 by tomorrow night.

This is a call for any donation you can contribute to help her reach the goal. The receipt of the pledged amount would give her the buzz to help raise the kind of funds needed to take on Marilyn Musgrave.
