Obama, Hull and Ryan

Is Obama the luckiest man in the "history of civilization?
Noam Schreiber seems to think so.
For what it's worth, my first thought upon reading this was: "Blaire Hull" and "Jack Ryan." In addition to being a phenomenally talented politician, is it possible that Obama's the luckiest man in the history of civilization?
A Teachable Moment

As you can see from my history I don't write a bunch of diaries or make many comments. For some reason, this whole thing with Imus has touched a nerve for me but not in the way you may imagine. I really don't care if Imus is fired. In fact, I hope he stays on the air and is not totally neutered. Now hold up, I in no way condone his remarks. I find them reprehensible. I am of the mind that I like knowing what people are thinking, especially if they tend to harbor racist, sexist, classist or whatever "ist" attitudes. I like to know who and what I'm dealing with.
I am in no way diminished by what Imus said. I'm not a nappy headed ho. Okay sometimes, my hair is nappy. But hey, I'm a black woman with nappy hair sometimes. Shout out to Madame CJ Walker.

This is on now and will be replayed at 11pm tonight (Sat 9/10) and Sunday (9/11) at 7pm. I know this is not appropriate for a diary entry, but there is no recent open thread. It will be deleted. For those of us who have no life and are home on a Saturday night you have to check out this program.
Jeanne Meserve is hosting the show.
This is what journalism looks like.
Crossfire: Margaret Carlson lays the smackdown on Novak

Two disclaimers:
- This is my first diary
- I never watch Crossfire because it does indeed "hurt America".
Today, for whatever reason I did, because I love to see Ms. Carlson and the Dark Prince go head to head on Capital Gang. She brought it.
There were two things that had me rolling.
The first was when the DP tried to say that she and others of her ilk (aka libruls) are against the military and never support any of the wars the US have been in.
